Rae Pung,

 

​ a Singaporean pianist lauded for her mesmerizing performances, pedagogy and collaborative works.​​

 

In 2024, Rae released an album “Piano Sonatas” as well as several EPs that were selected to be on Spotify’s editorial playlist, “Classical New Releases”. Her collaborative spirit has driven her to work with orchestras all over the world, such as the Philharmonic Orchestra at the University of Alicante, Danube Symphony Orchestra, Dohnányi Symphony Orchestra Budafok, Orchestra Filarmonica della Calabria, ToruÅ„ Symphony Orchestra, Academic Symphony Orchestra of Kharkiv Regional Philharmonic, Orchestra of Music Makers, Orquesta de Cámara, The Academic Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine and more. In 2025, she was invited to do a three-week residency at Orvieto Musica, a premier chamber music festival in Italy. ​

 

Her passion to share her music has led to features in media outlets worldwide such as The Straits Times, Serenade Magazine, The Vale Magazine, Teen World of Arts, The Star, Ritmo Magazine, Australian Broadcasting Corporation, LianHe ZaoBao, TV Torún, and Bresciaoggi.

Her works have been shared with audiences around the world through radio stations such as Symphony 92.4FM, Rádio Armazém, Planet Network, Berlin On Air, Rádio Criativa10, and more.

 

 Rae has won prizes in competitions including the Nuova Coppa Pianisti Competition, Sydney Eisteddfod Kawai Scholarship, Val Tidone Piano Competition, V International Subcarpathian Chopin Piano Competition, VIII Budapest International Chopin Competition, XIII Volodymyr Krainev Piano Competition, XII International Piano Competition for Young Pianists in memory of Vladimir Horowitz, XXI International Frederick Chopin Piano Competition for Children and Youth, Jeune Chopin International Piano Competition,10th Edition Young Pianist of the North Upon Tyne competition, and the Piano Island Festival and Competition. 

 

Born in 2003, Rae has studied with pre-eminent pedagogues such as Ingrid Fliter, Boris Petrushansky, Stanislav Ioudenitch and Andrzej Jasinski. She was accepted into many prestigious institutions, ultimately studying in Oberlin Conservatory, Fondazione Accademia Internazionale di Imola, and The Purcell School.​​​​

Performances

Rae is a seasoned performer who has travelled across the globe to share her music to her audience. As a musician, Rae believes in transmitting the composer’s message and emotions to the listener as authentically as possible. Her efforts have rewarded her with countless opportunities to perform in unique and meaningful venues. 

Rae Pung accepts a $12,000 cash prize at Sydney Eisteddfod Competition

With a strong background in piano teaching, Rae already has several years of pedagogical experience, having taught in collegiate settings as well as privately.
